A compact, sober and monumental volume to connect our collective memory with the perception of the future.

The zenithal light enters with oblique geometry to build an almost monumental atmosphere.

Formally, the building is presented as a compact, sober and monumental volume, a mass of concrete that rests on the snowy landscape with ceremonial gravity. Its entrance, more than an entrance, is a deep cut, a gesture that acts as a physical and symbolic threshold. Behind this slit, the visitor enters a central atrium that articulates visually and functionally.

The volume dialogues with the city with an iconic but serene presence.

The building is organised on clearly defined levels. The ground floor houses the main entrance and public functions such as the foyer, shop and café. The upper level contains the main exhibition spaces, characterised by large, neutral and flexible rooms. The vertical circulation is resolved by a central sculptural staircase that articulates the routes and connects the different areas of the museum.
