Post House

Sociocultural Center.
Jabugo, Huelva. (Spain).

this is the baKpak of the building

The aim of the project is a the house known as “The Post House”. It is a good example of popular architecture. In this house lived and worked the telegraph. It had two facades, a public facade facing the street and the other private facade facing the garden. It had three height levels: on the upper level was a storage, in the middle level access from the street was the living area, and in the lower level is located cellar and access to the yard .

His typology is not only interesting because of its heritage, it is also interesting how this architecture without architects experiment with concepts of contemporary architecture: the development of hybrid and green buildings, where the mix of uses and adaptation to the environment and resource optimization are Two key points of the project.

The project respects the diversity of levels of the existing building, introducing a new extension to the garden where to locate the elevator and stairs, as well as double-height spaces.

The house brings together all public and cultural uses of this small town: exhibition halls, reading room, library, computer room, women’s association, youth association, association for the elderly, multipurpose hall and theater.
