Bakpak, among the studios selected by CIC magazine as a benchmark for sustainable architecture
The Sevillian office Bakpak Architects has been included in the latest issue of CIC Architecture and Construction, The special edition brings together more than 100 international studies around a central question: what challenges does sustainable architecture face today?
The issue proposes a collective reflection on the future of living and the role to be played by technology, materials and architectural culture in a context marked by the climate emergency. In this context, CIC has selected Bakpak as one of the studios that are exploring new ways of building from a responsible, long-term perspective.
Among the projects that exemplify this line of work are the following Oceanika (designed together with EOVAStudio), a proposal in which structural wood takes on a leading role as a material capable of reducing the carbon footprint, optimising construction resources and improving the environmental quality of living spaces.
This project anticipates a profound transformation in the way architecture is conceived: buildings that not only reduce their impact, but also actively contribute to storing carbon, managing resources more efficiently and building healthier and more humane environments..
At Bakpak, we understand sustainability not as a label, but as a design decision that runs through the entire architectural process, from the choice of materials to the way the buildings dialogue with their context.
We thank CIC for the invitation to participate in this collective conversation and to open a space for reflection on the role that architecture must assume in the construction of a more conscious and responsible future.
