The proposal for the 32 dwellings in Huerta Nueva is formulated from the logic of integration and urban clarity. It does not seek to stand out for its formal exceptionality, but for its capacity to suture the surrounding fabric, continue the alignments of Calle José Díaz Oliva and naturally articulate the relationship between city and park. In a neighbourhood that is still in the process of consolidation, the project is presented as a piece of urban organisation, emphatic in its geometry, but attentive to the nuances of the place.

The building is designed as a compact volume, four storeys high plus attic, which takes advantage of the unevenness of the plot to house the car park on the ground floor without interfering with the urban scene. The great formal operation of the project - a central void that perforates the building transversally - is not an aesthetic gesture, but a strategy for urban relations. This opening acts as a pedestrian access to the heart of the building, but above all as a visual and spatial filter between the consolidated city and the linear park at the southwest end of the block.

Typologically, the project opts for pass-through dwellings that make the most of the double orientation: to the north-east, towards the street and the urban fabric; to the south-west, towards the park, the sun and ventilation. This organisation makes it possible to generate units with cross ventilation, generous terraces and main rooms facing the landscape. The covered terraces, conceived as habitable extensions of the living room, become a fundamental intermediate space in the Malaga climate: solar shelter, thermal filter and vital extension of the dwelling.

The economy of the project does not compromise its architectural dignity: the façade is resolved with a system of mortar painted in neutral tones, where subtle horizontal and vertical stippling introduces a precise modulation that orders the composition. The absence of expensive materials is replaced by a sober, restrained and carefully executed language. An architecture that demonstrates that with few means it is possible to build a city with meaning, scale and character.

More than a building, this proposal is conceived as a porous housing infrastructure, capable of taking on the passage of time without losing its identity. An architecture that does not seek prominence, but belonging. A dense prism that strategically opens up to the light, the air and the park, and turns the city limits into a habitable threshold.
